This role will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the day-to-day performance of our advertising marketplace. This is a hands-on operational role centered on diagnosing performance fluctuations, surfacing actionable insights, and supporting the optimization of ad revenue. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, data-driven, and eager to develop deep expertise in ad tech and marketplace dynamics.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Daily Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key ad performance metrics (revenue, fill rate, CPM, CTR, ROAS, etc.) on a daily basis, proactively identifying anomalies, trends, and areas of concern.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate the drivers behind revenue fluctuations or performance declines — e.g., diagnosing why ad revenue dropped on a given day by examining inventory levels, demand shifts, bid price changes, or seasonality effects.
  • Ad Inventory & Fill Rate Tracking: Monitor ad inventory availability and fill rates, flagging imbalances between supply and demand and escalating issues to senior stakeholders.
  • Performance Reporting: Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that give clear visibility into marketplace health, ad placement performance, and demand trends.
  • Placement & Targeting Analysis: Analyze ad placement performance across different surfaces and audience segments, identifying opportunities to improve visibility, relevance, and results.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, and sales teams by providing data-backed insights that inform marketplace decisions and ongoing optimizations.
  • Ad vs. Organic Analysis: Support the comparison of ad performance against organic performance benchmarks to identify growth and optimization opportunities.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in digital advertising, ad operations, e-commerce analytics, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to work with data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and communicate findings clearly. Comfort with ambiguity and a curiosity-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets is a must. Basic knowledge of ad platforms or ad serving concepts is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for spotting anomalies in data and a structured approach to root cause analysis.
  • Communication: Ability to translate data findings into clear, concise summaries for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Curiosity about Ad Tech: Familiarity with core concepts such as CPM, CPC, auction mechanics, bid pricing, or programmatic advertising is a plus — but a strong willingness to learn is equally valued.
