Reporting to the COO/CPO, the Growth Team seeks to identify and optimize growth strategies for the company through insights, analysis, experiments, and data. The projects the Analytics Research unit work on serve to establish, develop, and augment the core analytical understanding of the business, and provide an analytical framework for subsequent strategy and optimization.

What you do:

  • Build on, develop, and enhance the architecture of the interconnected network of predictive and analytic data models that form the basis of strategy, insight, business understanding, forecasting, and analysis throughout the organisation
  • Perform simulations to evaluate statistical and methodological frameworks on topics such as experimentation, forecasting, segmentation, etc, as well as for business process optimisation
  • Build additional data models that integrate modularly with the network that enhance our understanding of the business, model new business opportunities or process chains, or optimize existing initiatives
  • Perform intelligent dimension-reduction on high-dimensional objects (e.g., food delivery orders, customers, merchants, etc.) to inform segmentation and clustering
  • Build scalable prototypes of data tools for testing and proof-of-concept for subsequent productization by IT/DS
  • Perform data enrichment and profiling through inferential statistics based on multi-dimensional customer and merchant behavioural data
  • Manage a high performing team (for Senior Managers)

It would be great if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in data science, statistical or mathematical research, operations research, or complex data modelling/ analytics
  • Strong understanding of the mathematics underpinning analytics, particularly around graph theory, Markov chains, linear programming, and mathematical (convex) optimization
  • A hacker’s mindset – the ability to build simple but clever and elegant solutions to new problems within significant resource, operational and time constraints through deep understanding of the business, creative problem solving, and a wide range of expertise in data, analytics, automation, programming, and prototyping.
  • A good understanding of statistics, computer science, and data, and the ability to implement this understanding in complex business situations.
  • Experience with complex analytics and statistical/machine learning techniques using R/Python/Spark
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement state of the art algorithms, approaches, and methods from conference papers or published research
  • Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research, or data science is preferred
  • Familiarity with agent-based modelling, deep learning, or ability to work in matrix mathematics is a plus
