What you’ll Do:
- Provide expert-level database administration for LMWN databases, including AWS Aurora (MySQL & PostgreSQL), self-hosted MongoDB (replica sets and sharded clusters), and other database systems.
- Lead the charge in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for all database-related incidents, owning problem resolution from investigation to implementation.
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies to guarantee business continuity and data integrity.
- Manage database security, including access control, encryption, and vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive data.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to advise on schema design, review schema changes, query best practices, and data modeling.
- Utilize Grafana, Prometheus, and other monitoring tools to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across all database environments.
- Research, evaluate, and deploy new database technologies and features, with a particular focus on the Vector Database landscape, to meet the evolving needs of our products.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the database architecture, configurations, and procedures.
What you’ll Need:
- 7+ years of professional experience in Database Administration, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of database fundamentals, including indexing, replication, and query optimization.
- Extensive experience in the administration of cloud-based databases, particularly Amazon RDS and Aurora (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting complex database issues in a high-traffic production environment.
- Solid experience with Linux system administration.
- Experience working with applications built on microservice architectures.
- Proactive, initiative, and eager to learn and apply new technologies.
It'd be great if you have:
- Experience with or knowledge of Vector Databases (e.g., Milvus) is a significant plus. (Candidates with a strong passion for learning and a solid database foundation are strongly encouraged to apply).
- Hands-on experience with large-scale, self-hosted MongoDB (replica sets, sharding) is an advantage.
- Experience with analytical databases or search technologies such as ClickHouse
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Our Tech Stack:
